Poker run honors Gridley sailor killed at Pearl Harbor

About 50 riders joined the inaugural Warren McCutcheon Poker Run in Gridley on Sept. 6, hosted by American Legion South Butte Post 210. The event honored Seaman Second Class Warren McCutcheon, a 17-year-old sailor from Gridley killed aboard the USS Maryland during Pearl Harbor in 1941. Riders from across Northern California participated to raise funds for veterans and celebrate the reopening of the Gridley Veterans Memorial Hall, with plans to make the poker run an annual tradition.
