Adele Leurini, author of the “Ordinary Man” series, will be featured at the Friends of the Colusa County Library Author Night on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at the Colusa County Free Library.
Born in 1951, Leurini discovered her love of writing at a young age but pursued a successful career in nursing. She earned a Ph.D. in Education with a concentration in Nursing Education from Capella University and went on to serve in both military and civilian healthcare roles, including at a flagship Veterans Affairs hospital. Drawing from decades of professional and personal experiences, she brings authenticity and emotional depth to her storytelling.
Her debut novel, Andrew and Olivia, introduced readers to her “Ordinary Man” world. The series continues to grow through her publishing venture, Retirement Legs Writing Company.
“These are stories about real people, their challenges, and the hope that comes from human connection,” Leurini has said of her work.
The Friends of the Colusa County Library, a volunteer nonprofit, hosts events like this to connect readers with authors and promote literacy programs throughout the county. The group’s efforts help fund special projects, equipment, and community programming that enhance library services beyond the county’s budget.
Organizers encourage residents to attend the event and meet the author. Copies of Leurini’s books will be available for purchase, and light refreshments will be served.
